We are currently offering the following procedures. If you would like to inquire about additional procedures, please contact our offices. Minimally Invasive Hysterectomy Options Take your time to discuss hysterectomy options with us at All Women’s Health. We are able to perform several types of hysterectomies that have shorter hospital stays and recovery times compared to traditional procedures. Most patients stay one night in the hospital and recovery can take one to three weeks. Scars can also be minimized with laparoscopic and vaginal techniques. A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of all or part of the uterus. The doctor may also remove the fallopian tubes, ovaries and /or the cervix. These are the terms used to describe the surgery: Supracervical or Subtotal Hysterectomy – Removes the uterus and leaves the cervix which may reduce pelvic organ prolapse and preserve sexual function. Total Hysterectomy- removes the uterus and cervix, often recommended if there is a history of abnormal pap smears. Radical Hysterectomy- removes all of these organs and pelvic lymph nodes, usually performed when cervical cancer is present. www.gynecare.com Endometrial ablation In our office we able to perform a uterine balloon therapy to provide relief for heavy periods. This 8 minute procedure is hormone free and unlike hysterectomy, allows you to keep your uterus. The balloon is inflated to approximately the size of a walnut and treats the uterine lining with heated fluid. If relieves symptoms of PMS and cramping and most women can return to normal activities the next day. www.gynecare.com Essure Sterilization We are also able to perform sterilization in the office setting. The Essure procedure involves the doctor inserting a soft, flexible micro-insert into the fallopian tubes. Over several weeks a natural barrier then forms preventing the sperm from reaching the egg. This procedure involves no general anesthesia and takes about 10 minutes to perform. Payment can be as low as an office co-pay. www.essure.com
